Blessings for 2010

Blessings as this year draws to a close. May the coming year bring the greater expansion of light, love, and peace to the Earth for the benefit of all beings. For those who have been waiting for a clearer vision or manifestation of the unfoldment of their path of service, may all hearts realize the fulfillment of their waiting and experience the holy Love that guides each soul eternally.

Please note:

At this time and for the new year, this blog is being merged with Essentials of Purification in a new blog called Time of Awakening, about the new consciousness that is arriving on the Earth. Please join us there to celebrate the new. Blessings.

Being Present and the Integrity of Being

Being present in the moment does not just mean taking part fully in the external situation that may be happening, whether it be a crisis, a conversation, or a life-event that evokes feelings. It means bringing one's whole self to that moment, including all the threads of love, wisdom, and relationship that are part of the self.

To be present in the moment is to exist in it with the full integrity of one's being. Here, all relationships are honored, all love is intact, and respect for life is integrated with the totality of what may be happening on the outer level. Being present means being present to what is inside as well as to what is outside. This is a way of existing in the fullness of who one is. It is a great learning and a great task of consciousness. Blessings.

The Creative Impulses of the Soul

As light increases on the Earth, the creative impulses of the soul become stronger and the desire to express what is most true and most deeply held begins to feel more urgent. Being aware of these deepening motivations allows a choice to be made. One can stay with the more tightly bound habits of the past, or one can embrace the expansion and motivation to expand and be willing to risk moving into a new and unforeseen future.

No matter which choice is made, the pressure to integrate more fully with one's own soul identity is part of the time we are in. It is not an individual phenomenon but a planetary one. Despite the changes that this is bringing and will bring to relationships everywhere, it will also allow life individually and collectively to become more truthful, more caring, and more real.

The Being of the Earth

We recognize the Earth as a planetary body with many interrelated systems of which human beings are one. In the 1960s, James Lovelock hypothesized what came to be known as the 'Gaia Hypothesis', that the Earth is a self-regulating unified Being with all systems interconnected and with a vast consciousness of its own.

On NPR several days ago, James Lovelock, now in his eighties, said this: We know that we need the Earth in order to survive since her material form is the foundation of our life as a species. But the Earth benefits from our being here as well. How else but through us could she come to see herself from outer space!

This precious commentary from one whose life has been devoted to raising awareness of Gaia...

Interacting With Others as Souls

The world is still greatly in need of healing, and one of the areas in which this is evident is the way in which work often dehumanizes people, casting them into narrow roles where they are compelled to separate themselves from their heart.

The next time you are involved in a difficult conversation with someone in a role - a salesperson, customer service representative, technical support person, consider this: each is a soul, and every person, if they really could choose, would choose to live with their hearts intact and not separate themselves from what is most important. Our current view of work and of relationships in general creates this separation. It is important to try, therefore, to get past this obstacle and to wish for others what they would wish for themselves - the possibility of living and working as a whole being with a whole heart.

In interacting with others, even when they are identified with their roles, see if you can still remain in your own heart. The practice of compassion will take you out of whatever role you are in and center you in a wider sphere of truth.
